There are so many wonderful bird artists. As a mere youth I tried to be like Don Eckelberry, Louis Agassiz Fuertes, John Audubon, Francis Lee Jacques, Maynard Reece, Roger Peterson . . . well, a lot of popular bird artists.

I guess many people have developed their own lists of favourites, possibly to the exclusion of all others. Hopefully my brand of textural and woolier bird portraiture will appeal equally. I confess to not having counted all of the feathers: rather than a taxonomic treatment, I have elected to show the wear and tear of the wind and rain, and the beauty in spite of it all.
